Chachagua Rainforest Lodge
Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hacienda is unlike any other Costa Rican resort. The hotel is also a working farm, providing fresh and natural ingredients for our culinary offerings. The bordering natural tropical Rainforest area is the perfect backdrop for your vacation. Located in one of the most biologically diverse areas in Costa Rica, near the scenic Arenal volcano and in the Rainforests at the foot of Monteverde National Park and adjacent to the International Children's Rain Forest, the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel & Hacienda is a great destination for ecotourists, birdwatchers, naturalists, and adventure seekers alike, and it is not uncommon for visitors to see a wide variety of exotic plants and animals ranging from blue morpho butterflies to oselots and even jaguars.
The hotel's location distinguishes it from other rain forest resorts and hotels because it allows visitors to choose from nature hikes on the trails of the rainforest; horseback riding through the scenic surroundings of the San Carlos region; white water rafting on the Peńas Blancas River; fishing and water sports at Lake Arenal; and, much more.
Tamarindo Diria Beach Hotel & Resort
Tamarindo Diria Beach & Golf Resort sets its self apart from all others as the only hotel located on the white sand of the world famous Tamarindo Beach. As Tamarindo's first hotel, it has been the area's premier lodging facility and offer it's guests 30 years of hospitality experience.
Spread out over 5 acres, Tamarindo Diria Beach & Golf Resort's mixture of tradition and contemporary style and architecture is surrounded by exotic and beautifully maintained lush tropical gardens that offer it's guests the natural beauty of Costa Rica right outside their doors. Tour of Arenal Volcano and hike on El Silencio Trail in Arenal National Park
The Arenal Volcano tour transports guests to the active northwest side of the volcano. The tour begins with a hike and depending upon which side of the volcano the lava is flowing, we go either to the trail "Los Tucanes" at the National Park or Mirador El Silencio.. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake just in time for sunset!
Palo Verde Boat Tour at Rancho Humo
Palo Verde National Park is a wildlife refuge located between Tempisque and Bebedero rivers; in this park we can find the biggest area of wetlands in Costa Rica. The name of the park comes from the “palo verde”. In English it is known as horse bean, but its name literally means “green stick” as the leaves, branches and trunk of this thorny shrub are all green, it also has delicate, yellow flowers.
Scientists from all over the world come to study this rich ecosystem that combines rivers, marshland, mangroves and dry forest. During the bus ride, we will travel through a changing countryside of savannas, plantations, and little villages.
After boarding the boat, that will take us up the river, we will be able to admire the natural beauty of this park, including wildlife such as huge crocodiles resting under the sun and groups of monkeys moving quickly between the branches, while our boat takes you in a floating safari adventure through Tropical Forest.
Some birds are resident species, plentiful in the area, and it is possible to see hundreds of them like, Anhinga or “Snake Bird”, Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks, and the Jabiru, the largest bird in Central America and very endangered. Also, we can see the Olivaceous Cormorant, the White Ibis, Blue Herons, and much more.
